Coyotes
Habitat
Coyotes are mostly found in North and Central America, native as south as Panama and as far north as Alaska! They are pretty adaptable because they can live in such a wide range of landscapes such as grasslands, forests, swamps, and deserts. They're also typically comfortable around humans, which makes their long list of suitable habitats even longer! Urban and rural lands can even suffice.
Diet
Coyotes are predators and carnivores, which means that they kill other animals, called the prey, as their food source. And these animals are always meat. The animals that they usually eat include rabbits/hares, ground squirrels, and white mice. Very rarely a coyote will eat a bird, snake, or even some insects that are creeping around. Because of coyotes' many living areas, they will eat basically anything, sometimes human trash and even small household pets! With such a large buffet of things to eat, there must be so many of them in the world!!
Description
Coyotes, in some ways, look like larger and differently-colored German Shepherds. Their approximate length and weight is 75 -100 centimeters (29.53 - 39.37 inches) and 7 - 21 kilograms (15.4 - 46.2 pounds). They are usually grayish color, but that gray can vary from darker to lighter to browner to yellower. Usually, a coyote's upper body has a more red tint. Their tail is about half of their body weight, bushy, and has a black tip. They have a little black nose, and their ears are pointed. A coyote's eyes has bright yellow irises and round pupils, like humans. They are very stealthy and normally slender.
Breeds
Coyotes don't have different breeds. There is just the one and only...coyote!!
